Draco MalfoyDraco Malfoy is a proud, selfish and belittling replica of his Farther. Born on the 5th of June 1980 he falls under the sign of Gemini. (Those who are Gemini can be classed as thoughtless and moving from one thing to another rather quickly, they can be hard to judge as their opinions are often loud and can change in a sharp snap. They very rarely make up their mind on anything and once they have, may put all of their energy into making sure they get the desired effect. For the Gemini everything is about them.)Draco worships the ground his farther walks on and tries in vain to mimic and become his clone by taunting and willing himself to believe he is better than all others. Attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Draco was sorted into Slytherin house, the house in which all-previous family members were placed. Draco had wanted to attend Durmstrang but due to his mothers pleas for him to remain close he went to Hogwarts instead. Year OneDraco’s first year at Hogwarts seen him meet the famous Harry Potter and be enraged when Potter declines his request for friendship, it is from that moment on Draco understands his instant dislike for potter, perhaps his own ego being the real reason why he loathes him and not what his farther could mention about the dark lord. Draco at this stage in his life is spoilt and is used to everything being handed to him on a silver platter, he soon comes to the realisation that the opposition is going to fight back.Year TwoDraco’s Second year at Hogwarts we see how much power his farther holds over him and the domination he with stows. Draco almost appears to be afraid of his farther but has the utmost respect, and tries to complete his wishes but understands he can never be what his farther wants, perfection. When potter was placed in the Quidditch team in their first year Draco became jealous and knew he could not let his enemy simply walk over him, buying his way into the Quidditch team Draco became Slytherin Seeker apposing Potter.Year ThreeDraco’s third year at Hogwarts is slowly calm as he still tries to taunt Potter at every chance that is offered. In a Care of Magical creatures class with Hagrid, Draco is injured by Buckbeak and reports the news back to his farther who seeks this as an opportunity to have the school closed or the headmaster replaced. Lucius also involves the ministry of Magic and has Buckbeak sentenced to death. Buckbeak is killed, however their planes are foiled as Potter and his friends use a time turner to save Buckbeak and Sirius Black.Year FourDraco’s fourth year at Hogwarts is one that sees him growing up and putting a lot of effort into publicly smearing Potter with any avenue possible. When Potter is selected for the Triwizard Tournament Draco makes badges ‘"Support CEDRIC DIGGORY - the REAL Hogwarts Champion" / "POTTER STINKS" that are worn by Slytherins and various people from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Draco also works with Rita Skeeter from the Daily Prophet in telling wonderful stories about Potter for the public to view at their own pleasure. It is also in his fourth year that we see him escorting Pansy Parkinson to the Yule Ball.Year FiveDraco’s firth year at Hogwarts sees him in a position of power that he has longed to have; Slytherin Prefect. His already known dominance over others is amplified as he abuses his posture of authority. When he finds out Potter is not a Gryffindor prefect this becomes his own personal vendetta. At one stage Draco enrages Potter so much that he is banned from playing Quidditch after attacking Draco, and Ron Weasley is forced to endure Slytherins project to weaken Weasley, so yet again another slogan is born. Draco writes his own Slytherin Version of the song Weasley is our king.(Weasley cannot save a thing, He cannot block a single ring, that’s why Slytherins all sing, Weasley is our king. Weasley was born in a bin, He always lets the Quaffle in, Weasley will make sure we win, Weasley is our king.)To his added success as Slytherin Prefect Draco also gets on the good side of Dolores Umbridge and becomes part of the Inquisitorial Squad. This new role gave him the power to deduct points from other houses and it was Gryffindor who brunted his wrath. However, it was not going to be in Draco’s favour when a battle raced at the Ministry between those faithful to the Dark Lord and the honour of the order, fought hard against each other. He farther was captured, and sent to Azkaban.Year SixDraco’s sixth year at Hogwarts is different to any other; you see a man emerging from the boy as he is growing and becoming dedicated to what he must be faced with in the future. He yearns for his fathers freedom and this time is willing, to do what must be done to save himself and his family. We see Draco enter into a new faze of life, he is now a Death Eater and has the Dark Mark on his left arm, He becomes more secretive and not as quick to brag about the latest dark deeds taking place, he enters into the real world. For Draco the time has come when he can no longer just shoot off at the mouth about everything he is going to and should do, he must undertake orders that the Dark Lord sends him. For Draco his attempts to plunder and obscure things in the past have failed miserably but for him this year his achievements may have reached further then even he could have imagined. Draco was set one goal, one goal that he had to complete to gain the Dark Lords greatest respect (and possibly saving his parents) that was to Kill Albus Dumbledore. Although his two methods; a Potion and a cursed locket failed to reach Dumbledore they did injure others. (One being Ron Weasley who drank the potion) Besides his attempts to Kill Dumbledore Draco also worked hard in the Room of Requirement fixing a cupboard that was linked as a passageway to Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn alley. Draco’s dedication to his role at Hogwarts could obviously be seen taking its toll as he began to grow slowly pallier as the realisation of his task began to sink in. When Draco is finally faced with Dumbledore he hesitates and is almost convinced by Dumbledores words to save him, he lowers his wand, but at that moment that could alter his decision Death Eaters arrive, that had used the mended cupboard Draco had himself fixed. Unknown to Draco and the other Death Eaters Harry Potter is in the room shielded by his invisibility clack and immobilised. When Draco cannot undertake the mission, Severus Snape arrives. He was bound to Draco’s Mother by an Unbreakable Vow to take over if Draco was not able to, and with little effort from a pleading Dumbledore Severus Snape – The Half-Blood Prince – ends Albus Dumbledores life, with a very abrupt exit. Severus, Draco and several other Death Eaters flee and none try and stop them, as they believe them to be chasing or even running away from the Death Eaters themselves. With a single pop they both disappear, to a location we do not know, to a place that will remain secret and with a fate we must wait to find out.The FutureDraco’s future is an uncertain one, when Severus Snape is making the Unbreakable vow with Narcissa he states;“He intends me to do it in the end, I think. But he is determined that Draco should try first. You see, in the unlikely event that Draco succeeds, I shall be able to remain at Hogwarts a little longer, fulfilling my useful role as spy.” – Severus Snape. This could in fact insure us that Draco has tried his hardest to end the life of Albus Dumbledore, but it does not give us any indication still of how Lord Voldemort may or may not act. Draco may still receive a great honour or he may be punished for his weakness to not complete the task. One thing is very certain, his life has changed forever and nothing is every going to be the same again. |
